How to combine videos in one Instagram Story
By Storyvids · Updated
To show several videos on screen at once in a Story, combine them into one 9:16 video first, then post that video.
Storyvids does this in your browser. Your clips are never uploaded, and there is no account to make.
Steps
- 01
Pick a layout
Open the editor and tap the layout button. Two rows or two columns hold two videos, three rows hold three, and the grids hold four or six.
- 02
Add your videos
Tap a cell to pick files. Select several videos at once and they fill the empty cells in order. To record a clip instead, turn on the camera and hold the shutter.
- 03
Frame each clip
Drag inside a cell to move the video. Pinch on a phone or scroll on a laptop to zoom in.
- 04
Export one MP4
Tap the check mark, pick a resolution and a frame rate, and download the video. On iPhone, tap “Save to Photos or share” to put it in your camera roll.
- 05
Post it to your Story
Open Instagram, start a Story and pick the video from your camera roll. It is already 9:16, so it fills the screen.
Videos of different lengths
The combined video runs as long as the longest clip. Shorter clips loop until it ends, so no cell goes blank.
Sound
The sound from every clip is mixed into the export. The speaker button in the editor only mutes the preview.
Which resolution to pick
1080 × 1920 is the standard Story size. 1440p and 4K keep more detail if you crop or edit the video again later.
