2×2 video grid for Instagram Stories
The 2×2 grid splits the story into four equal cells. Each cell is 540 × 960 at 1080p, the same 9:16 shape as the whole story, so portrait clips fit with no cropping.
4 cells · 9:16
Four cells of equal weight
No cell in this grid is bigger than another, so no clip leads. Use it when all four clips matter the same: four friends at one table, four angles of one jump, four days of one week.
A clip you filmed upright on a phone shows its whole frame here. Photos from a phone camera are a little wider, at 3:4, so the cell trims about a quarter of their width. Drag a photo left or right to choose which side to keep.
Good for
- Four angles of one moment
- A recap of four days or four stops on a trip
- One product from four sides
Tips
Keep faces away from the middle
All four cells meet at the center of the story. A face cut in half at that point pulls the eye to the cut. Drag each clip until faces sit inside their own cell, clear of the inner edges.
Match the light
Next to each other, small changes in color look large. Four clips from the same place and the same hour read as one set. A clip that is much darker than the rest looks best in a bottom cell, away from the first glance.
